Following up results once tests are done is of utmost importance.  Please telephone the surgery to arrange to speak with the nurse or doctor. Blood tests are usually back within 7 to 10 days; however other test results may take longer.

If the doctor has advised a return appointment to review results, then phoning to check results are in prior to attending is prudent. Results of tests ordered by consultants do not routinely come back to the surgery.  They will have set up a review appointment for this.
