Meet the Team
Our team are highly trained in many areas and are happy to look after your general health and more specific requirements. We are dedicated to listening to you, discussing your physical and mental concerns in an honest and open fashion. We will provide you with up to date, evidence-based medical advice to make informed choices when it comes to managing your health.
The practice is also a training practice for specialist trainees in general practice from the Irish College of General Practitioners training scheme. These trainees are qualified experienced doctors and are undertaking further experience and training in general practice. They remain in the practice from periods of 6 months to 1 year.

Dr Colm Gleeson

Colm joined the practice in 1992 after 6 years of post graduate training. He has an interest in all aspects of medicine but particularly dermatology (skin diseases) and care of the elderly. He is an undergraduate teacher and is a former Hon Secretary of the Irish College of General Practitioners. He has also completed a Diploma in Traffic Medicine.

Dr Daniel Hinds

Dan joined the Clady and Greenmount practices in 1987 after completing his post-graduate training in General Practice in London and Exeter.
He was actively involved in the Cork Postgraduate GP Training Scheme at UCC from 1990 until 2022 and served on various Committees of the National Association of Programme Directors as well as chairing this organisation. Over the years, he was actively involved with the local faculty of the Irish College of General Practitioners and the South Doc organisation.
He has a special interest in Communication and the Doctor-Patient Relationship. He also has an interest in Chronic Disease Management and High Blood Pressure.

Dr Barry Kelleher

Barry qualified from Medicine at NUI Galway (MB BCh BAO) in 2011. Prior to this he completed a BSc in Physiotherapy in UCD in 2006. In 2017, he completed his specialist training in General Practice in the Sligo General Practice training scheme. He returned to Cork in 2022 after spending a number of years working in GP practices in Dublin and Limerick. He is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners. He enjoys family medicine in its entirety.
He has a special interest in men's health, care of the elderly and musculoskeletal conditions.
He occasionally works as event/emergency medical cover for concerts/sporting events. He lives in Cork and enjoys hiking, swimming, surfing and outdoor activities with his young family.

Dr Naoihse Guerin

Naoihse qualified from UCC in 2017. She qualified as a member of the Irish College of GPs in 2023, after completing the Cork ICGP training programme. During this time she worked in both hospital and general practice settings. She has gained experience in various specialist areas including paediatrics, geriatric medicine, oncology, general medicine and surgery, psychiatry, emergency medicine and palliative medicine. She has completed additional training in the area of Women’s Health and Long Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARCs), including the fitting of contraceptive coils and Implanons. Naoihse’s special areas of interest are Preventive Medicine, Women’s Health, Paediatrics, Dermatology and all aspects of General Practice.

Dr Anne McKiernan

Dr Anne Mc Kiernan is from Cork and went to school locally in Mount Mercy. She studied Human Nutrition and Dietetics in Trinity College Dublin. Following this she completed a course in Sports Nutrition and worked with sports teams at national and international level. She worked for two years as a hospital based dietitian before returning to Trinity College to study Medicine. During her medical training she worked in various specialities in a number of hospitals in Dublin and Cork.
Anne completed the Cork Specialist General Practice Training Scheme in 2015. In 2017 she joined the Paediatric Allergy Clinical and Research team in Cork University Hospital. As part of this she was involved in research into food allergies and worked in the paediatric allergy clinic in Cork University Hospital from 2017-2024. She has worked as a GP specialising in allergies since 2019. She is also a lecturer in the MSc Dietetics in University College Cork.

Niamh Ahern
Phlebotomist
At Clady Medical Centre we have two experienced Practice Nurses, Rita Costa and Kayleigh Fitzgerald. Phlebotomist Niamh Ahern completes our nursing team. Our nurses provide a range of services to all our patients in a kind and caring manner. Services include blood tests, childhood vaccines, cervical smears, post-natal care, seasonal and travel vaccinations and supporting the doctors with the health management of our older patients.
Nurses Rita Costa and Kayleigh Fitzgerald are both members of An Board Altranais (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) and the Irish Professional Association of General Practice Nurses (IGPNEA).
Rita has surgical, cardiac catheterisation lab and theatre experience. She has a special interest in immunisation, wound management and breastfeeding and has completed the Breastfeeding Counsellor Course WHO/UNICEF. Currently, Rita is completing a Post Grad Cert in Paediatrics and Child Health in UCC.
Kayleigh has specialist surgical experience in Orthopaedics, Urology and Wound Care services. She has a strong interest in immunisation, women’s health care and will be providing support for our Allergy Clinic.

Debbie McCarthy
Practice Manager
Debbie McCarthy is our Practice Manager and joined the team following Pauline Sheehan’s retirement. She studied Business Administration at University of Wales, Cardiff and has lived in Ireland for the past 30 years.
Debbie has almost 25 years Medical Practice experience, working as a Practice Manager for over 17 years. She is committed to continuously improving the operational efficiency of the practice and ensuring a high level of quality patient care.

Kelly Griffin, Niamh Ahern and Jennifer Brennan are our friendly, welcoming faces at the reception desk and are always willing and happy to help with patient queries. Our efficient and experienced administration team works together to make sure all our patients feel comfortable and understood.
